We consider it important to establish a specifically anarchist position that speaks to our experiences and exchanges. In such a spirit we declare the following:

The ASF in Caracas: Voices from the left
Alternative Social Forum, 07-02-2006 - 14:10
* In Caracas, Venezuela between the 23rd and 29th of January 2006, 10 local socio-political organizations offered an alternative forum and critique of national politics in response to the World Social Forum. The result was a smaller-scale event but self-directed and reflective of current self-organizing capacity. The alternative forum was independent, self-managed and borne out of years of experience of organizing in the Venezuelan context.

Out-thinking, not out-fighting them! (w/art)
unbridled creatives network, 13-01-2006 - 04:26
Visionaries, 'idealists', and others daring towards their desires must move beyond shared powerless feelings. We are here for a reason, we have created and are creating our crucial projects. Understandings of reality and its origin are the keys to open the illusively impossible doors of fear and perpetual, everyday war. This article, with art included, goes over important truths while escaping 'Us vs. Them' constructs and at the same time promoting spirited *resistance consciousness*!

WILL NM BE THE FIRST TO BAN ASPARTAME?
CAROLYN DEAN, M.D.,N.D., 29-12-2005 - 18:42
One of the most rewarding things about being part of the ever-growing health freedom movement, is that there is always an upside to what often looks like a bleak and losing battle against the monolith we call “modern medicine”. In short, ordinary people can do extraordinary things when put to the test.

over, eh? So there is now confirmation of one c0int3lpro styled
informant centering his or herself in Eugene, Oregon.

WTO Seattle Anniversary and IMC History
Repost from the New York City IMC, 02-12-2005 - 10:21
http://nyc.indymedia.org/en/2005/11/61033.html
Many citizens from the Rogue Valley traveled to Seattle six years ago and particpated in the huge protest where people of all flavors banned together to "Just Say No To The WTO."
This historic demonstration also birthed the very first Independent Media Center. Hundreds working in print, radio, television and internet based news journalism converged on the 6th Street IMC headquarters and presented the world a different picture than the censored reports from mainstream's corporate media. This was a huge milestone and should not be forgotten, but celebrated. These were the seeds for the IMC network including our own Rogue Independent Media Center.

In a speech Monday Cheney used language against war critics like "shameless", "reprehensible", "dishonest" and "corrupt". Yet within the context of this very speech Cheney shamelessly presents a dishonest, corrupt, and reprehensible argument rationalizing the administration’s occupation of Iraq.

Peter Buckley on Hugo Chavez
from the ACA listserv, 29-09-2005 - 19:58
...Chavez is a revolutionary, and you can agree with him or not with how far he goes with his rhetoric, but he has placed the resources from his country's oil sales into health care and literary programs for the poorest of the poor. I have to admire that. I know of no credible sources claiming that he is enriching himself at his peoples' expense. That has been the clear habit of Latin American leaders in the last several decades, but Chavez seems clean. He is an avowed leftist and friend of Fidel, but a corrupt militarist he's not.

anti war rally sept 24th SF
Reflections From A Southern Oregonian, 28-09-2005 - 08:01
On September 24th at a little after 3:00 a.m. 47 Southern Oregonians boarded a bus in Ashland's Bi-Mart parking lot and started the journey to San Francisco to participate in the large & successful march & rally against the Iraq War. In SF the buscateers were joined by others from S. Oregon who had found their way to this important convergence.
What follows is a thoughtful account of the day from "m":
perhaps i'm just too much of a "babe in the woods" with regard to big
demonstrations but i was blown away at such a huge mass of people and from
my own perspective felt there was great enthusiam. ...
