Health Care for All Oregon will be the focus on Dec. 4, 5pm at Southern Oregon University when we have David Rovics join us for "Songs of International Solidarity"... The campus host is the Student United Nations Club. Southern Oregon Jobs with Justice is a co-sponsor and other community organizations are asked to join the sponsorship.

December 10th is the 64th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights approved by the United Nations December 10, 1948.
Article 25 States:
(1) Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself and of his family, including food, clothing, housing, and medical care and necessary social services, and the right to security in the event of unemployment, sickness, disability, widowhood, old age or other lack of livelihood in circumstances beyond his control.

Southern Oregon Jobs with Justice is a co-sponsor and we are asking other community organizations to help cover the concert costs.
In Southern Oregon we remember how the UN Club at SOU did such a great job of inviting Occupy to the campus several times this last year. With students leaving campus after the first week of December and gone for Human Rights Day Dec. 10 the timing couldn't be better for this concert on Tuesday, Dec. 4th. We will "drill down" on the Human Rights Day focus with the Heatlh Care is a Human Right! message which is the foundation for our Health Care for All Oregon campaign.

Health Care for All Oregonians are organizing for a statewide mobilization to Salem for the first day of the next legislative session February 4, 2013. Any proceeds raised beyond the performance fee at the Dec. 4th concert will support the Feb. 4th mobilization to Salem.
