Things to consider for New Year's Resolutions
Message from Nancie & Mark/Good Grief America, 31.12.2010 14:48
The good news is that there was sustainable life on this planet before this meltdown and we have the opportunity to look at and commit to redefining who we are, what is important to us and how we can rebuild our Main Streets in America. A few things to consider in your new years resolutions are:
1) Where can I volunteer to make a difference to rebuild my community using my special talents and skills?
2) What new industries will be needed in our communities? What skills do I need to develop?
3) How can I change my buying habits to buy local, recylced and sustainable?
4) How can I assist others in rebuilding our comunities?
5) How can my voice be heard for a better place to live?
6) What are the core values that are really important to me and how do I stay focused on these?
Greetings and Happy new years to all from the Good Grief America team.
2010 has been a challenging year with a lot of grief for Millions upon Millions of Americans. Change always comes with its associated pain. Our lifestyles, culture, financial system, political system has been on an unsustainable course for some time now. So the good news is that we have started that shift and are making the adjustments. The not so good news is that 2011 may very well make 2010 look like a cake walk. Are you up for the challenge and rewards?
SInce WW2 till the late 70's Americas Economy was built on an "industrial economy" wherin the American people prospered. The next 30 years we moved into a "consumer economy" wherein Wall Street and the elite few prospered with the illusion that the masses were also. In actuallity, the masses accumulated debt. As a culture we seemed to have lost what is of most value to us as we collected debt and unnecssary plastic toxic throwaway waste built in China. We redefined ourselves by our "Stuff".
Since 2008 we seem to have moved into a "foreclosure economy". As we at GGA build the attorney network to defend ourselves from this eoncomic collaspe that we have participated in, I coined the term "the Attorney reemployment act". I look around me at all the industries that are thriving. Bankruptcy, Divorce and foreclosure defense are booming. Then there are all the industries such as modification companies, foreclousre mills, Government agencies to regulate and assist us (though they don't seem to help), Of course there are also the debt collection firms, liqudation auction houses to disolve good for closing down businesses, etc. Many of these industries are also not sustainable.
Thank you for being part of the solution and stay focused on the intended postive outcome not the process.
