We'll gather in Alba Park at 11 a.m. for inspiration, music and speakers, as we rally for peace in solidarity with similar rallies all over our nation and the world.

In Alba Park, the Rogue Valley Peace Choir will perform and we'll hear from Bill Mansfield, Medford attorney, who helped the ACLU preserve our rights to public assembly in Medford, and other fine speakers. Progressive groups of all kinds are invited to staff booths or tables at the park.

After the rally, we'll march with our banners and signs through downtown Medford to Vogel Plaza. Citizens are encouraged to bring their own signs and their voices to show the Rogue Valley that the peace movement is still alive and well.

Then, we'll march on to the Medford Library where at 1 p.m. Peace House will lead a forum, "Moving Beyond Us/Them Thinking." This forum, in the style of a dialogue cafe, will address how "us/them" thinking, in individuals and on the part of a nation contributes to strained relations, social disharmony and, ultimately, war.

Dr. Rick Kirschner, nationally-known speaker and bestselling author, will start the conversation by offering his insights on this topic. All who attend will be able to share their experiences and ideas in discussion groups after Kirschner's talk.

Groups that are co-sponsoring this event are: Collateral Repair Project, League of Women Voters of Ashland, Oregon Action/Rogue Valley, Pacific Green Party, Peace Village Festival, Rogue Valley Campaign for Nuclear Abolition, Rogue Valley Veterans for Peace, Rural Organizing Project, and Women's International League for Peace and Freedom.
