"America Wins With Trade Tour" was going to be in Medford but the day we had a successful "Fair Trade Press Conference" ( 8-8-08,  http://rogueimc.org/en/2008/08/13717.shtml ) we learned that the Free Trade Tour couldn't find a free trade venue in Southern Oregon and so these corporate cronies were heading on up to Portland....

When people have money to burn, they don't always make the wisest choices on how to spend it. The Consumer Electronics Association recently hired a PR firm to travel the country by bus in an attempt to drum up support for the Bush administration's stalled free trade agreements. When we heard their "America Wins with Trade" tour would be in Oregon this week, we called together some of our satire-loving friends to throw them a little welcome party.

"The public relations subcontractors running this bus tour are fighting the good fight. Free trade agreements may not be popular with voters, but they are absolutely crucial if corporations are to continue shifting jobs around the globe to where labor is the cheapest and environmental protections the weakest," said Rob Depoor, communications director of Affluent Traders of Oregon.
