On Monday, April 14th and Tuesday, April 15th four concerned citizens stood out in front of the Ashland Post Office handing out War Resisters League Material which present where our tax dollars really go.
According to data from the War Resisters League, with headquarters in New York City, 54 percent of the federal budget for the 2009 fiscal year - or $484 billion - goes toward past and current military expenses, including an estimated $200 billion for Iraq and Afghanistan war spending.
“The vast majority of people passing in and out of the PO were appreciative and supportive” said leafleting volunteer Gerry Cavanaugh.
