Southern Oregon Assembly on Free Trade and Job Loss
 http://www.rogueimc.org/en/2008/03/11208.shtml

Free trade agreements like NAFTA and the WTO have cost thousands of southern Oregon residents their jobs. Many more are at risk of having their jobs shipped abroad if trade policies continue on their current course. Even those whose jobs are safe from offshoring suffer from the downward pressure this puts on wages and the accompanying decline in the local tax base.

This town hall-style event is an opportunity for the community to come together and examine how free trade agreements are eliminating Oregon jobs and otherwise harming the region. It is also a chance to work together for fair trade policies that reflect the values of our state.

All members of the public are invited to participate in this free and open forum sponsored by the Oregon Fair Trade Campaign and Southern Oregon Jobs with Justice. For more information, contact ORFTC at  rusa@citizenstrade.org or (503) 736-9777 or JwJ at  brain@mind.net or (541) 482-6988.

Only through education do we have any chances to counter the myth of maintream media which has stolen our airwaves and the progressive voices of ordinairy people!
