Critical Mass happens in Ashland on the last Friday of every month, as it does worldwide.
Meet at Evo’s Java House at 4:30 & ride at 5:00.
When you participate in Critical Mass, you let others know that you cycle for many reasons: to bring attention to everyday transportation & parking problems, to promote cycling and mass transit, to improve the environment, and for fun. Critical Mass is foremost a celebration, not a protest. It is not trying to force motorists off the roads or take away their rights, but illustrate that cyclists have an equal right to the road. The more motorists know about cycling safety, the safer streets will be for everyone on them.
Bikes have as much right as cars to city streets.
“pro-bike” does not necessarily imply “anti-car.” Many massers, of course, own and drive cars, but advocate using them appropriately, only when no other means is practical. Some riders favor “peaceful coexistence” with the car, while others, no doubt, would like to see a completely car-free city. But, in general, most massers just want to celebrate the joy of biking, and to share that feeling with others.
Invite your friends, let's ride.
