Dear Friends of Citizens for Peace & Justice and coalition members,
At our monthly meeting last night we decided to go ahead and schedule "In Memoriam: 4,000 US Soldier Dead in Iraq" event for 1 pm Saturday, April 5th, at the Rogue Valley Mall near the north I-5 interchange in Medford.
We'll convene in the small parking lot just north of the Shell Station off Crater Lake Highway, between the mall and Target parking lots. We'll have one or two very short talks, some tasteful music and then we'll walk around the perimeter of the mall on sidewalks on Crater Lake Highway and McAndrews Road and return to the start.
This will be more of a solemn occasion and we suggest that folks wear black, if possible (not a requirement). It will be similar to the event at the same location held on Jan. 9, 2007, after the 3,000th died.
As I write this, 3,993 have died. Too many of us have plans for Saturday, March 29th, so we decided to go with April 5th even if the deaths go over 4,000 before or after that date.
We hope that many of you can join us at the mall at 1pm Saturday, April 5th.
Yours for peace & justice, Allen Hallmark 855-2312

Greetings R.E.D. Community, We'd like to extend a heartfelt thank you to those who attended and helped to make our Stick Ball Games such a great success for our youth. We appreciated the outpouring of support, respect, laughter and cheers!
Many people have asked if we will continue to play the Games on a regular basis. Since there is so much interest (AND warmer weather coming to allow playing a little easier!), we'll try to have a monthly Games day in Lithia Park. Please stay tuned to our website regarding dates and times for the Games: www.redearthdescendants.org
Also, we WILL play Stick Ball at our Elder/Youth Conference in June. Information about the conference will be forthcoming. Dates are set for June 20-23 at EarthTeach Forest Park outside Ashland. Again, thank you for helping our youth excel ("HOYE") in a way that celebrates the traditional style of stick games. We in the R.E.D. circle feel so blessed share this way of life with an expanding circle of people who share a similar vision.
