Less toxic candle idea
17.03.2008 - 16:44
Hi all - this idea was passed on to me for the candlelight vigil and thought I would pass it along. So if folks would like to put this idea into action someone will need to bring some olive oil and maybe folks can bring some empty pint sized jars as well:

Note for the Ashland community that common candles are very very much tied into Petroleum company profits. They are bleached sludge from the very bottom of the crude oil cracking process. The sludge is hardened from by products of the meat packing industry. They are as toxic as second hand smoke.  http://www.epicureantable.com/articles/acandles.htm . In the past Ashland people turned out and lit an entire vigil with olive oil flames. Using a precision designed wick holder, a cotton wick, a jar, and any vegetable oil except corn oil, and presto, a whole group suddenly has come together over a good idea which directly opposes what we are at war over. I will be glad to supply over 100 wick holders for free along with free wicks. Pint (Aprox.) size straight sided jars EVEN DRINKING CLASSES, and oil is all that is needed. A gallon of Olive oil at The Canned Food Outlet is usually less than 20.00. This vigil took place in Ashland before the Gulf War.  http://cometogetherinapeacefulway.blogspot.com/. It was done very easily. The whole process only needs 3 helpers, and a small bit of support to acquire the oil! Sincerely, Jim Bickers Co-owner, Guardian Angel Olive Oil Lamps.
