We held a rally to mark the 1-year anniversary of Nick Hanson's death after the APD used the TASER on him.

Almost exactly one year ago, Mandy & I held a rally to mark the one year anniversary of the death of SOU student Nick Hanson after the APD used the TASER on him. Bennet spoke at that rally. Now another year has passed and we have another death. Someone knows who the fire victim was and what happened to him that night, but they aren't telling. Here is video of bennet talking about his experiences with 911 and the APD a year ago. Was the burn victim Bennet? Was it foul play? We may never know. But Bennet has a story and it's on youtube. I would have put it here but the files are too big for our server. Here's the url:

Thank you! 02.03.2008 - 13:12 This video (and the first part at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G0egAfxY3a0) shows several things. Bennett is a participant in the community, he talks about working for peace, and he's showing his potential for contributing. Bennett in this video is talking about the failure of the Ashland Police to provide equal protection to him as a person who "didn't have a residence" after he called 911 because he was being harassed by somebody who was shining a laser into his eyes. It doesn't come out in this video, but Bennett felt he was being harassed because of being Jewish.
If Bennett was murdered, wouldn't the person who was harassing him be on top of the list of suspects? Did the APD fail to get so much as a name of the person who was harassing Bennett? Does the APD have reason for being biased towards finding "no signs of foul play"? Vegan1forPeace> |
