Memorial Circle For Homeless Fire Victim
Vegan1forPeace, 27.02.2008 12:59
There will be a memorial circle in honor of Bennett Tanner, the assumed person whose body was found burned in his campsite recently, on Saturday, March 1st at 1 pm, at the old gravel quarry up near where Granite Street and Glenview Street meet, the quarry where a legal eco-village for both homeless and overly housed has been proposes.
There will be a tent set up to represent both the status and the dreams of Bennett. Media people are invited. Besides honoring Bennett and calling attention to the need for a legal solution which allows peaceful sleeping for homeless folks in the community of Ashland, this will be a statement about a restlessness which awaits answers about a definitive identification of the burned body and about what happened when that person was burned - a restlessness partly out of a fear that this situation won't get the attention it should have because of the status of homelessness of the victim.
