We could not sell these CDs gave more away than we sold, now they are collectors items??? lool Anyway, thought I would give you all a heads up; many of you have copies. Also, if you have a War Crimes hang on to it also; we printed even fewer hard copies of those. Guess when you shift to giving it away for free on the net and stop making hard copies the hard copies become worth something. I am just surprised there is a demand. -NW Regional Meeting to Support Troop GI War Resisters, JANUARY 20 in Tacoma
Dear Fellow Veterans and Activists, Happy New Year of Resistance to War!
Thanks again to all of you who participated in the October 28 regional meeting in Carnation, Washington, organized by the War Resister Support Action Team of Veterans For Peace, chapter 92. The GI Outreach breakout group decided then to have a follow-up meeting. That meeting will be in Tacoma on Sunday, March 20, 1 pm – 4 pm.
Since the Carnation meeting a little over two months ago, there have been several promising new developments. Iraq Veterans Against the War are planning an intensive outreach effort to GI’s at Fort Lewis, Feb. 18-24. And several veterans and activists have been planning a pirate radio station and website for GI’s at Fort Lewis and nearby McChord Air Force Base.
Please join us in Tacoma on Sunday, January 20. The meeting will begin at 1 pm and end by 4 pm. It will be held at the Unitarian Congregation Church at 1115 S.56th (see below for directions).
Directions to the meeting on Sunday, January 20, 1pm – 4pm: Unitarian Congregation Church at 1115 S.56th in south Tacoma. It is on the corner of "L" street. It is very easy to get to from I-5 going either direction. Just take the 56th St exit and go East. The church will be down a couple lights on your left and there is ample parking.

On December 28th, a federal judge issued a temporary restraining order which postpones Oregon’s Domestic Partnership law from going into effect on January 2, 2008 as scheduled.
Should our community have "equality" for only those who believe exactly like you? What does "equality" mean anyway, and is the Constitution wrong in saying "The Citizens of each State shall be entitled to all Privileges and Immunities of Citizens in the several States." (Article IV, Section 2. US Constitution); or "No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property..." (14th Amendment, Constitution). We could go on about the scores of Constitutional violations by the Bush administration, but the point is that addressing these problems is key.
Among the most serious problems in this country are: being still dependent on a massive Pentagon/war economy; and being uber-controlled by corporations. Every time equal rights for all gets squeezed, everyone is affected negatively and Constitutional compliance is challenged, frozen, or eliminated.
We are ALL unique people of inclusive belief in our diverse mix of spiritual, religious, and secular community values. Many of us are veterans who have fought for equal rights freedoms and social justice. We are ALL responsible for each other, and absolutely must stand together for equal rights and freedom of expression whenever possible. The Oregon Domestic Partnership Law has been delayed from going into effect on 2 January, 2008 by court action initiated by out-of-state interest groups, and this ultimately affects us all. We must challenge this set back.
Equal rights are for everybody. It's not surprising that the judge who ruled for the Alliance Defense Fund (ADF) to delay civil unions, District Judge Mosman, got his federal judgeship with the backing of Republican Senator Gordon Smith. ADF is hard-right conservativism that welcomes and profits from aggression, war, racism, hatred, fear, and destruction of Constitutional freedoms. Terms like "human dignity", "civil rights", "social justice", "Bill of Rights", "Peace", "diversity" and anything that vaguely resembles the tenets of human pride and self respect are not in their script.
Engaging each other, and everyone everywhere at every opportunity in a dialogue about Peace is what's required to transform conservativism. So please, put on a heavy coat, and come out and shiver with us for Peace if you possibly can... our colors are a rainbow of diversity, human dignity and strength, and it will be a beautiful privilege to be there.
