Take a Stand for Peace. Speak truth to power and hear from former Georgia Congresswoman, Cynthia McKinney, who leads the way when it comes to asking tough questions regarding elections, war, katrina, 9-11. Ms. McKinney is an outspoken and courageous woman who is certainly worth listening to.

Take a Stand for Peace with former Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney. She will be "Speaking Truth to Power" in Portland, Corvallis & Ashland.
 
            Former Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney is an outspoken critic of the Bush Administration and a potential Green Party presidential candidate. McKinney will be in Ashland on tuesday, November 13th at the Ashland Public Library (410 Siskiyou Blvd) in the Gresham Room from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
 
            In addition, McKinney will be in Portland on monday, November 12th at the First Unitarian Church, 1011 SW 12th Ave, Room B201 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. And on tuesday, November 13th in
Corvallis at the Westminster House, 101 NW 23rd St (Corner of Monroe Ave., across from OSU Campus)for a 9:00 a.m. Talkand an 8:00 a.m. Pancake Breakfast. She will be meeting with supporters at private events in Portland and Eugene.

McKinney is appearing in Oregon in support of the Pacific Green Party’s 2008 Peace Campaign.  The Pacific Greens plan to run candidates in each of Oregon’s five Congressional districts on a platform calling for an immediate end to funding for the war in Iraq.
           
Ms. McKinney, a former Democrat from Georgia, is now enrolled as a Green Party member. 




McKinney was awarded the fifth annual Backbone Award (pictured above) by the Backbone Campaign "because she was willing to challenge the Bush administration and called for an investigation into 9-11 when few others dared to air their criticism and questions."
