Here's Walden

pogo, 07.07.2007 17:17

Rep. Greg Walden was sighted at a packed townhall meeting in Medford on July 3rd. Citizens squeezed into an overcrowded meeting room, straining to hear as a soft-spoken Walden defended the continued occupation of Iraq.

It was standing room only as frustrated citizens lined up out the doors of Jackson County Courthouse Auditorium, the lack of sound system further exasperating the situation. While giving mention to the need for withdraw, Walden defended the current build-up, blaming the Iraqis for failing to "stand up". Walden shared as success the increase in money for mentally ill vets and his role in securing one more year of federal funding. Walden then heard a range of concerns and criticizms from the gathered crowd. Citizens for Peace & Justice and other groups protested outside the meeting.
