The Southern Oregon Jobs With Justice (SOJwJ) coalition has its first annual meeting this Sunday afternoon April 29th at the Central Point Labor Temple and your presence is encouraged. We just received our charter from National Jobs with Justice and it is time to celebrate our arrival, we are official now. Watch out Southern Oregon: here we come!

SOJwJ Annual Meeting - April 29
1:00 p.m. (30 minutes) Press Conference SOJwJ Board of Directors and Guests
1:30 p.m. (90 minutes) First Annual Meeting with short presentations from various member organizations. Music will be provided by Bill Lawson an activist with Oregon Action who is interested in healthcare reform. Bill is a songwriter who will sing his song about National Healthcare. Two current SOJwJ campaigns will be highlighted, The Jackson County Save Our Libraries campaign efforts to open the 15 libraries again and support for the Oregon Nurses Association's nurses at Mercy Hospital in Roseburg who have yet to secure their "first contract" after gaining an overwhelming vote to affiliate with ONA over a year ago. A May 4th rally in Roseburg has been planned.
3:00 p.m. (60 minutes) Business meeting with members voting on minor Constitution & Bylaws changes and the election of SOJwJ's Board of Directors.
