Snowshoe the Mt Ashland Expansion, April 1st

As appeals pend to the 9th Circuit Court regarding the legality of the expansion, the City of Ashland and the Mount Ashland Association head into mediation as the MAA threatens to sue the city. The fate of our watershed remains undecided. Join community members for a snowshoe into the proposed Mt. Ashland Ski Expansion to see what is at stake.
The proposed expansion area is 270+ acres in our municipal watershed, including 71 acres of old growth clearcutting to develop new ski runs. The Mt Ashland Association has announced that it plans to start logging this spring. Lets go get a good look before they do.
Carpools leave from Evo's Coffee Lounge at 9 am on April 1st.
Dress warmly in layers, bring water, lunch, and snowshoes. Snowshoe rentals available at Ashland Outdoor Store (488-1202) and Mountain Supply (488-2749) for $10. Call stores for details.
