Rachel's Parents
Craig and Cindy Corrie,
are on a speaking tour to tell her story as a way to continue her work by drawing attention to the plight of the Palestinian people.
In January 2003 Rachel traveled to Rafah, in the Gaza strip with the International Solidarity Movement.
They practiced non-violence and direct action in support of the Palestinian people to confront the 39 year Israeli occupation of the West Bank and Gaza.
Rachel documented the destruction and abusive acts against the Palestinians. She worked with Palestinian women and children.
She planned to connect Rafah and Olympia, Washington as sister cities.

A Place Called Chiapas (1998).DVD-rip.XVID.av 12.09.2006 - 06:59 A Place Called Chiapas (1998).DVD-rip.XVID.avi b> What did you do for human rights? 14.09.2006 - 01:03 What did you do for human rights today? Because if you haven't had the opportunity or time, "Friends" makes it easy... "Friends" are 'Friends Committee on National Legislation', www.fcnl.org, and they are an easy and pleasant educational site indeed. As total pacifists, FCNL has many decades experience in lobbying without attack or defense -- just 'DO WHAT YOU CAN DO'. Their site is an excellent choice to add to your "Favorites" toolbag, and their 'Take Action' link is easy to use. Also, use and share the toll-free direct phone number to WashingtonDC, with which you can reach any senator or congressman, 5 days a week. Ask a question or tell them how you feel, and if you request they will give you an answer via postal mail. Need motivation? Just remember Rachel Corrie. At 23 years young, she gave her life for human rights, by standing her ground in front of an American made, U.S.-provided Israeli military bulldozer. She was in the act of defending her friends' home, a doctor's family with whom she had been staying for four months in her peace activism. We can honor her so easily, please don't pass the opportunity to do so, TAKE IT. So, what did you do for human rights today? No worries, tomorrow you will have another chance, from the comfort of a home that is not threatened to be bulldozed... TAKE IT. Hal B. Anthony> I beleive 24.09.2006 - 18:00 I beleive that all those who want to show support should go to the middle east and stand for what they beleive in.....Stand up and voice your opinion to the rulers practicing the ethnic cleansing, get in their face and voice your thoughts. Go to Iraq to stop the civil unrest so our troops can come home and peace will be had. Tomorrow isn't to late, but if you don't do it today, tomorrow will never get here. Student> |
