helping katrina's survivors

Is there anyone in Southern Oregon coordinating an effort to help the victims of the hurricane?
I heard that 1000 survivors of Katrina will we going to Portland and I was wondering if the residents of Southern Oregon will be sheltering any evacuees. I know that some people are opening their homes (see move-on's website--
http://www.hurricanehousing.org/ but I think that an organized community effort would provide for their needs better. I also thought about temporary eco-villages on public land or gathering needed items and delivering them to evacuees. please contact me if you are intersted in working with other locals to help or know of anyone else already doing something.
