Scathing Criticism Of our Forest defense

Damnit
Sorry to be blunt but the frequent communication breakdowns in this community and lack of coordination is unnerving the shit out of me.
There is no reason why people in Southern Cascadia should not have known about this situation. Annette could have briefed people at the meetings. And camp could have spread the word, even more easily. I called camp and asked them to pass on the message. Along with other important information.
I think it's fucking BS that people can't communicate and pass on simple information. It's your GD duty if you want to call yourself an activist AND / OR a part of a larger movement to function within that community.
It's absolutely no fucking wonder we are loosing. Loosing Loosing - our homes, our forests, and our communities. Our World!
Please: Get the fuck organized - Or get the fuck out

This isn't a tea party

I've been involved directly in the "movement" for 7 years myself, and I'm sick of this community's lack of organization. I know we're "anarchists" but I don't care, pass on a God Damn phone message people.
In my opinion, if we can't do this... we are definitely fucked and should all give up and go home before more people are hurt and arrested for no good reason.
Peace

Uh, what situation? 31.05.2005 - 18:13 Just wondering, whats so scathing? I don't even understand what the issue that is so huge is, other than lack of communication. Please communicate clearly so we can try to understand what the problem at hand is. scathing> With friends like that... 31.05.2005 - 19:31 Wow and he/she is on your side. Must of just got last weeks news that the 9th circuit upheld the lower courts decision to not halt harvest activities of dead trees at Biscuit. Curious> re feral mf's comment 31.05.2005 - 21:16 so whos gonna do what about it...im ready to do my part. wanna make something happen or simply continue to complain. c'mon we can do better. badger> I'm sorry but... 01.06.2005 - 05:57 I just have to laugh at the angst and hopelessness of the poster. Obviously, all the arrests in the world aren't even showing up in the liberal newspapers across the counrty. If you had the science, you'd be winning in court and winning converts but, now that the legal loopholes you once depended on are gone, your activities look like silly exercises in futility. Again, harvesting SOME of the dead trees within the Biscuit Fire isn't "destruction". Again, this is NOT "the largest timber sale in Forest Service history". I'm also seeing that FSEEE is threatening a lawsuit if the stream buffers are not expanded to double thier current size. I can't see them winning in court, as there is not a good enough reason to expand those buffers beyond the original 174 feet. That distance is also above and beyond what past projects have used. However, the larger stream buffers in current use represent a concession by timber beasts to make this project "fly". In actuality, most of the bigger "leave snags" already are protected within the stream areas. FSEEE is attempting to stop the project by eliminating all profit incentives and we'll see if their science will stand up in court. Hotfeet> |
