Peace House and Citizens for Peace & Justice are hosting a series of community events during the week of December 7 - 12 to honor International Human Rights Day and raise money for a humanitarian delegation to Iraq sponsored by Global Exchange and CODEPINK. This delegation of parents who lost loved ones in Iraq and on 9/11, as well as health care workers, will take a shipment of desperately needed medical supplies to the Iraqi/Jordanian border, where they will meet with Iraqi humanitarian aid organizations that will take the supplies to Falluja and other places in need.
On Tuesday, December 7, Citizens for Peace & Justice will host a screening of "Stonewalk" at 7:00 pm at St. Mark's Episcopal Church Parish Hall on the corner of 5th and Oakdale in Medford.
On Friday, December 10, Peace House and the Media Collective will host the southern Oregon premiere of "About Baghdad" at 7:00 pm at the Meese Auditorium on the SOU campus, next to the Schnieder Museum.
And on Sunday, December 12, community members will canvass Ashland to raise awareness about the humanitarian situation in Iraq and raise money for the CODEPINK delegation. Folks will meet up at Peace House, 543 S. Mountain Avenue, at 12:30 pm for a brief training and orientation before hitting the streets.
All proceeds from these events will be sent directly to CODEPINK to support this humanitarian delegation.

"Stonewalk" is the story of a peace group in Massachussets who walked towing a 2,000 pound memorial stone to "unknown civilians killed in war" to Arlington National Cemetary.
"About Baghdad" is a journey into the hearts and minds of the hundreds of Iraqis the film makers encountered in Baghdad. In the simmering heat of Baghdad's summer, Iraqis of various ethnic and political backgrounds and orientations, speak of past horrors and present fears.
Donations to support the humanitarian delegation to Iraq can be sent directly to Help Iraq/Global Exchange, 2017 Mission St. #303, San Francisco, CA 94110 or online at
