Bus to SF Protest J 20
Media Collective, 30.11.2004 15:14
Act now to reserve a seat-we'll have to cancel if not enough interest
A group of activists are deciding whether or not to charter a tour bus to San Francisco J.20 for the inauguration protest.
If the bus is full, the cost will amount to roughly $50 per person.
So far we have about ten people; we need another dozen or so to express interest before the end of this week so we can put down the deposit and schedule departure times.
Please contact the SOU Media Collective by Thursday, 5 pm if you want to ride down to SF and back.
If you don't ride the bus, well then you have to attend the protest here in the Rogue valley, wherever that may end up being. We all know you're a lot more likely to get arrested for no reason here in Ashland/ Medford than you are in SF!
RSVP asap! Thanks, call Steve 541 951 1409

Good Idea 30.11.2004 - 23:23 The bus to San Francisco is a great idea. But, I also think that it is important to protest locally. As the author mentioned, there is a risk of the local authorities being less than fair but that is a small risk for peaceful protesters. Going to San Francisco would be a great opportunity for enlightened individuals to spend some time with like mined people. My point is that it is also important to get the word out locally that it's not just a few "crazy liberals" who are unhappy, but it is close to half of the local citizens. I will be arranging local protests, and as lame as it sounds, it would be great to shut down downtown Medford on the horrible day of the inauguration. So, anyone who can't make it to SF, let's spread the truth that the media ignores. If anyone has any ideas, please email me. We should all start working together to get some great protests going.
